Mesdag | Demonstrable control over access and company assets

Mesdag is a forensic psychiatric centre where treatment and safety come together. The centre provides highly specialised care in a strictly secured environment, with a focus on recovery, risk management and public safety.

New employees who, on their first working day, can immediately have the right access and company assets, and organisations that can always demonstrate who has what,, why and since when? At FPC Dr. S. van Mesdag, this is no longer a matter of trust, but of demonstrable control.

With the IDU/IAM solution in Service Automation Suite, Mesdag has gained control over physical and digital resources. Access, permissions and company assets are assigned according to policy, documented in processes and made fully traceable — including the reasons and approval.

The organisation explicitly did not want a traditional IAM solution focused mainly on automation, but an approach that connects policy, execution and systems and makes them auditable. TOPdesk serves as the central point of control, while Service Automation Suite provides coherence, structure and visibility across the entire IDU process.

For us, this is not about automating for the sake of automation, but about being able to account for who has which permissions and assets, why and since when. This solution has finally given us visibility and control over the entire process.
