Canon

Canon supplies printers, multifunction devices and services for print and document environments. Connect service for those devices to your own service desk, keeping tickets, device information and responses in the same workflow. API Composer connects messages and actions; Dataflow Composer (DFC) maps, validates and combines the data. HD2HD is one example of a supplier interface.

The work between your applications

Your service desk and Canon.
One ticket, connected follow-up.

A printer or multifunction device issue starts at your service desk and may require action from Canon. Service Automation Suite connects that handover to the relevant data, agreements and responses. Your team stays in its own service environment and can see who needs to act.

Verify. Inform. Report.

What is complete? Who needs to act? Which exception needs attention?

Start with one integration, register or check. Build on the same data and rules.

Combine into one controlled process

Data → rules → execution
  1. Combine

Request + customer + existing record

  2. Determine & check

    Apply rules and determine follow-up

  3. Execute & report back

Involve another service desk · Execute tasks · Return status

Check sources and rules, test changes and track the outcome. Manual tasks get an owner and confirmation.

Build visually. Manage easily.

Reuse building blocks, adapt your process and test the change. Manage it yourself, together with us or let Scope4mation take care of it.

Integrations with Canon

Tickets & progress

From your service desk to Canon. With the response back.

A device issue need not become a separate email exchange. Connect the ticket to Canon, include the agreed context and return progress to your service team. TOPdesk is an example here; the same approach fits other service management environments.

API Composer connects messages and actions. Dataflow Composer (DFC) maps and validates data and keeps the customer, device and ticket connected.

Combine the data with your policy, risk assessments and checks. Request information or a decision where needed, track actions and record the outcome.

  1. The correct data with DFC

Use Dataflow Composer (DFC) to combine customer, location and device data with the ticket. Map and validate the required fields according to the agreements for the service request with Canon.

  2. Connect messages with API Composer

Configure the outgoing ticket and response handling. For an HD2HD connection, use its corresponding message format. Retain both ticket references so later messages update the same record.

  3. Report back in the original environment

Return the available status, response and external reference to the original ticket. Agree which updates travel in each direction so your team can follow progress without retyping information.

Checks & follow-up

Exceptions get a next step too.

The exchange is useful when you know which tickets were processed and which need attention. Combine the connection with existing-record matching, required-data checks and clear ownership.

  1. Check before forwarding

Check that required customer, device and ticket data are available. Have the responsible team complete missing information before the agreed follow-up action runs.

  2. Recognise repeated messages

Use retained references for later updates. Configure how repeated messages and status changes are handled to avoid unintended duplicate tickets or repeated back-and-forth updates.

  3. Keep the outcome visible

Record the outcome of the exchange and assign errors or discrepancies to the right owner. Start with one route and reuse the approach as more suppliers join.

Your process. Our technology and experience.

Why connect Canon with Service Automation Suite and Scope4mation?

Get more from Canon and the applications you already use. Our Dutch technology and process expertise connect the whole chain. Stay in control of your data, configuration and how you build further.

Service Automation Suite + Scope4mation

Process & control

One process, your own applications

Use the data you already maintain. Service Automation Suite connects requests, decisions and execution across HR, IT, facilities and suppliers. Reduce retyping and chasing separate tasks.

Who has what — and why?

Compare what someone has with what your rules require and permit. Connect discrepancies to review, action and verification of the outcome.

Share data with a purpose

Which data goes where, for what purpose and who may access it? Incorporate your classification and security requirements into the configuration of each data flow.

Autonomy & choice

Your process shapes the chain

Combine the applications that fit your organisation. Connect data and workflow steps across suppliers, so one application does not dictate your entire way of working.

Developed and supported from the Netherlands

Service Automation Suite is our own technology. At Scope4mation, you work with the people who develop the platform and help configure workflows. Discuss your needs and next steps directly with us.

Keep your options for tomorrow

Keep configuration and process knowledge transferable. When things change, we assess what can be reused, what needs adapting and how to hand over data and operations.

Build & operate together

A toolbox to keep building

Connect your applications using visual building blocks. Start with one use case and reuse connections, data and actions for the next. Build yourself, learn together and expand deliberately.

Process expertise and technical delivery

We help work through the whole process: from the current and desired state to configuration, exceptions and handover. Combining your practical knowledge with our integration and process experience.

Operate it your way

Self-Managed, Co-Hosted or Managed: operate it yourself, together, or entrust the agreed operations to us. Clarify services, maintenance, costs and expansion upfront.

Under the hood

This integration, step by step.
How we configure this example

Connect messages, prepare data and report back

  1. Connect and retrieve

Configure the connection between the service desk and Canon service environment in API Composer. Use the agreed message format and configured access; for HD2HD, follow that interface specification.

  2. Find the correct record

Use Dataflow Composer (DFC) to combine customer, device and ticket data, map fields and check missing values. Match existing records using the agreed identifiers.

  3. Execute the agreed action

Execute the agreed create or update action. Keep both references linked so subsequent messages relate to the same ticket.

  4. Verify the outcome

Check the response, process available statuses and feedback, and make missing information or errors visible to the responsible team.

In this integration

Identification
Customer reference, device identifier and linked ticket references.
Data
Agreed ticket fields, available device context, priority and status mapping.
Feedback
The external reference and available responses linked to the original ticket, with exceptions routed to the right owner.

Beyond the first integration.

Use the same data and rules in your next process.

Start with one use case. Connect customer, employee and asset data, for example, and agree which source is authoritative. Reuse those relationships, a matrix where needed and configured actions in the next workflow. Agree who maintains the data and rules. Expand without repeatedly connecting and maintaining the same information.

Supplier finished. Is the internal work complete?

A supplier closes its ticket while internal verification or user confirmation is still missing.

Combine
Relate both tickets and the affected service. Use external completion to trigger a check, not automatically close the internal ticket.
The outcome determines what follows
Confirmed: complete internally. Rejected: return the reason and request correction. No response: assign follow-up to the agreed group.
The benefit
Fewer prematurely closed tickets and clear ownership of the next action.
Time recorded, but not yet accounted for.

Service work is complete but time entries do not match a known customer, project code or agreed processing route.

Combine
Combine time entries with central customer and project relationships and accounting rules. Request specific missing information.
The outcome determines what follows
Accepted: retain the accounting reference. Rejected: have the owner correct the cause. Resending an entry requires checking whether it was already processed.
The benefit
Less investigation and correction between service and finance without automatically treating errors as billable work.
A different name does not mean a new record.

A person or organisation has a different name in the source than at a customer or supplier. Matching text again can create incorrect or duplicate relationships.

Combine
Retain verified identifiers and source rules in a shared table. Reuse the relationship for requests, tickets and other integrations.
The outcome determines what follows
Known key: use the relationship. Multiple candidates or a missing identifier: request review. Once confirmed, reuse the established relationship.
The benefit
A consistent data foundation managed by your team instead of investigated again for every connection.

Your process needs more than a standard action?

Configure the missing API request, input and output in API Composer. Use its response in the next step and combine it with data tables, forms and automations. Extend the same product and reuse the configured building blocks.

Use Service Automation Suite to update a ticket in TOPdesk, for example, with fields available through its API, such as category, priority, status and support group. For another application, configure its request and field mapping. The outcome determines the next action: confirm, add information or request review, not merely check whether the request arrived.

Build it yourself: explore the technical approach

Need to publish data or let others submit it? Endpoint Composer exposes a configured Service Automation Suite data object with selected methods and security profiles. Other building blocks handle subsequent processing.
