Object Builder Agent: SCCM and database models

Wiki · 1.1

Use a JSON model to read local SCCM data and connect it to a CMDB.

A defined SCCM inventory read

Object Builder Agent reads an MS SQL database through a JSON model. The source uses SCCM with fields such as ResourceID, serial number, model, operating system and manufacturer. The model determines tables, fields and relationships.

Select the Agent type

Object Builder Agent uses the Qixium Agent. The older Object Builder type uses its own Reader Agent and is not supported for new installations according to the source.

Configure connection and model

  1. Create an Object Builder Agent connection, assign the Agent and reload configurations.
  2. Complete the generated configuration in C:\Qixium\configs\ObjectBuilderAgent and protect the connectionString.
  3. Create an Object Builder Model; match its name with the model's ID.
  4. Enable Use Agent, select the correct connector and validate the source model with the database administrator.
  5. Use the model in Data Link and verify keys, row selection and results.

Stable inventory matching

The example uses ResourceID and related SCCM views. Adapt its joins and collection selection to your own schema rather than copying an environment-specific collection identifier.

Compare with a CMDB

Match permitted inventory to records in a chosen CMDB such as TOPdesk or Matrix42. Define field ownership and handle conflicts before updating the destination. This read guide does not establish SCCM database write support.
